Echocardiography
Echocardiography evaluates the structure of the heart which includes the heart chambers, heart valves, muscles (myocardium) and the heart’s overall function as a pump known as ejection fraction. It is safe, noninvasive and has no radiation risk and is commonly used to diagnose heart failure.
Stress Test
The exercise stress test, often known as stress test, assesses the heart’s performance during physical exertion. It shows how well your heart is able to perform during physical activity. The exercise makes your heart work harder and faster, hence it is able to reveal problems related with blood flow within your heart..
It is commonly use to:
- Diagnose coronary artery disease (blockage of the heart’s blood supply)
- Diagnose heart rhythm problems (arrhythmias)
- Aid in directing treatment of heart disorders
- Assess your heart, prior to a surgery
Electrocardiogram (ECG)
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a simple bedside test that can be used to assess the rhythm and electrical activity of the patient’s heart. An ECG is routinely used in conjunction with other tests to diagnose and monitor cardiac diseases.
